Union of Informed Citizens holds a public discussion titled “Police violence: New wave or old traditions?”

On Tuesday, April 30, a public discussion organized by the Union of Informed Citizens NGO and titled “Police violence: New wave or old traditions? ” was held in the Krkoryan Hall of Elite Plaza Business Center in Yerevan.

Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan, representative of the international human rights organization Freedom House in Armenia Andranik Shirinyan, MP of the RA National Assembly, Acting Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Human Rights Protection and Public Affairs Rustam Bakoyan, and Senior Programs Manager of the Democracy Development Fund Tatevik Khachatryan spoke at the event.

The discussion was moderated by Programs Coordinator of the Union of Informed Citizens Daniel Ioannisyan.

Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, journalists, civil activists and public opinion leaders were also present at the discussion. The participants had the opportunity to address their concerns to the speakers and discuss various issues related to the field.
