As it is known, weeks ago a big scandal arose in Armenia concerning the Bill on Preventing and Combating Domestic Violence. A large amount of misinformation<\/a> was spread related to the bill, accompanied by accusations<\/a> against the West.<\/p>\n

Leaving aside the meaningful discussion of the bill, the \u201cUnion of Informed Citizens\u201d has prepared a small report related to groups struggling against the draft law for months, and has revealed the connection of those groups to the Russian Embassy and Russian state foundations.<\/p>\n

The investigation revealed that the \u201cPan-Armenian Parental Committee\u201d, \u201cStop G7\u201d resource, \u201cYerevan Geopolitical Club\u201d, HASAK political party, \u201cLuys\u201d Information and Analytical Center, some bloggers and media outlets are interconnected and have Russian support.<\/p>\n

That support is not always limited to financial assistance, like in the case of \u201cRossotrudnichestvo\u201d, \u201cRusskiy Mir\u201d and \u201cGorchakov\u201d Funds. In some cases, it is expressed by provision of data to these groups by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSS).<\/p>\n

As a result, we cannot rule out the probability that spreading of misinformation in the public field related to the RA Bill on \u201cPreventing and Combating Domestic Violence\u201d is mainly aimed at enhancing anti-Western sentiment in Armenia.<\/p>\n
