Today, on the initiative of the Union of Informed Citizens NGO, students of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Yerevan State University visited the Anti-Corruption Committee. The visit was organized with the support of Freedom House within the framework of the Advancing Democratic Culture in Armenia project.<\/p>\n

The students met with Sasun Khachatryan, the chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Committee. Speaking about the mission of the Committee, the new legislative changes related to the system, the importance and complexity of the investigator’s profession, issues related to professional orientation, Sasun Khachatryan emphasized that the investigator’s profession is complex, but at the same time it is a very interesting and dignified job. According to the Chairperson, the investigator must be not only impartial and principled, but also have a broad worldview, because due to the nature of the job, he can deal with people from various backgrounds and personalities, learn and research every day, and gain new knowledge. \u00a0“At the same time, we should not forget that this is also a job that requires a strong sense responsibility, since we are dealing with human destinies, and even a slight subjective or careless attitude is unacceptable here,” said Sasun Khachatryan.<\/p>\n

The chairman of the committee urged the students to be guided only by the law. “After all, everyone, regardless of social status or position, must understand that if they commit an illegal act, punishment will be inevitable.”<\/p>\n

Sasun Khachatryan presented the students with examples from his own experience and referred to the importance of introducing anti-corruption education.<\/p>\n
