UIC statement on the number of February 20 rally participants

On February 20, a rally demanding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation was organized by the Homeland Salvation Movement in Yerevan’s Freedom Square. The rally started at 15:00.

The Union of Informed Citizens counted the number of participants of the rally through aerial photography. The counting revealed that as of 15:40, there were 12 000 people in the Freedom Square. The calculation was done through the individual count of the rally participants.

However, it should be noted that due to weather conditions, some of the participants of the rally sheltered under the roofs of cafes near the square. According to our on-site count, the number of these rally participants was about 800.
