UIC statement on the number of participants in the May 11 opposition rally

Today, on May 11, the opposition “Resistance” movement was holding a rally in the France Square of Yerevan from 16:00. The rally later turned into a march to Yerevan Municipality where protesters blocked the entrance to the municipality for some time. Then the march moved again to the France Square where another rally took place at 20:00.

The Union of Informed Citizens carried out an aerial count of the participants of today’s final rally which started in the evening, as a result of which it was revealed that as of 20:12 there were about 1750 people in the France Square and the surrounding areas.

It should be noted that some participants of the rally might not be visible due to being under trees or tents.

The calculation was performed through individual counting of participants.
