A roundtable discussion on the constitutional regulations of socio-economic rights held in Yerevan

Today, on March 3, a roundtable discussion was held on the constitutional regulations of socio-economic rights, which was organized by the Union of Informed Citizens in cooperation with the Armenian National Platform of the EU EaP CSF Armenia. Representatives of the legislative body, the government, the Constitutional Court, the Office of the Human Rights Defender, the civil society and lawyers specializing in the field participated in the discussion.

During the event, Davit Hakobyan, a member of the Commission for Constitutional Reforms, Anahit Simonyan, director of the Human Rights Research Center, legal expert Nvard Piliposyan and others spoke at the event. The speeches were followed by a question-and-answer session and a discussion on the authority to appeal to the Constitutional Court, the direct effect of certain human rights, the positive duties of the state related to these rights, and other issues.
