On June 18, the Independent Observer observation mission held a press conference at the Hilton Hotel in Yerevan, which was attended by Daniel Ioannisyan, Program Coordinator of the Union of Informed Citizens NGO, and Arthur Sakunts, Director of the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor Office.
Presenting the preliminary observations of the mission during the pre-election period, the speakers drew attention to the information on the abuse of administrative resources, noting that unlike the cases registered during the previous elections, this time there were also reports of abuse of administrative resources by the opposition.
In addition, the speakers expressed their concern about the atmosphere in which the election campaign took place – full of hate speech, manipulations and use of inappropriate vocabulary.
The speakers also presented the activities of the observation mission on the day of the voting, which will include the presence of observers in 300 polling stations, the mission of mobile observers and media monitoring.
