Presentation of the Reforms.am website created by the Union of Informed Citizens NGO

On June 2, the presentation of the Reforms.am website created by the Union of Informed Citizens NGO with the support of the US Embassy took place at the Media Center.

Reforms.am is an information platform on the content of the reforms implemented in Armenia in various sectors. USAID Armenia Director John Allelo, First Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Kristine Grigoryan and Programs Coordinator of the Union of Informed Citizens NGO Daniel Ioannisyan spoke at the event and answered journalists’ questions.

In particular, welcoming the initiative of Reforms.am, John Allelo emphasized the role of citizens in the establishment of democracy, noting that, to achieve that end, it is necessary for citizens to be aware of the reforms implemented by the government.

Kristine Grigoryan, in her turn, mentioned that the initiative is important in terms of raising citizens’ awareness and ensuring civic control over the implementation of reforms.

Reforms have been implemented in Armenia for years, but the general public is not very aware of what is changing. “In order to make the reforms more understandable to the public, the idea of creating a relevant website arose two years ago,” said Programs Director of the Union of Informed Citizens Daniel Ioannisyan.
