On July 1, 2024, the annual Armenian Forum for Democracy was held in Armenia for the third year in a row. The event was organized by Freedom House international human rights organization and the Union of Informed Citizens NGO.
As previously, this time as well the forum was held at a high level. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, foreign ambassadors accredited in Armenia, high-ranking public officials, representatives of civil society organizations and media participated in the event.
Five panel discussions on various topics took place during the forum, including the presentation of the report “Why Are There No Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh?”
To summarize the results of the forum, closing remarks were delivered by Daniel Ioannisyan, Programs Coordinator at the Union of Informed Citizens, and Andranik Shirinyan, representative of Freedom House in Armenia.
The organizers expressed confidence that after a year they will again invite the participants to the fourth Armenian Forum for Democracy to discuss the course of promoting democracy in Armenia.
Note that the Armenian Forum for Democracy has been held since 2022.
