Public discussion ʺIssues in Public Procurement: Oversight and Transparencyʺ held in Yerevan

On April 23, the public discussion titled “Public Procurement Issues: Oversight and Transparency” was held in Yerevan.

The speakers at the event were Tsovinar Vardanyan, Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Financial, Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly, and Avag Avanesyan, Deputy Minister of Finance. Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Armenia, H.E. Mr. John Gallagher, also spoke at the event. The discussion was moderated by Daniel Ioannisyan, Programs Coordinator at the Union of Informed Citizens NGO.

The public discussion was attended by officials from various public agencies, diplomats accredited in Armenia, representatives of the civil society and the media, and other individuals interested in the field of public procurement, from Yerevan and the regions. During the extensive, heated discussion, issues, challenges, and concerns related to public procurement in Armenia were raised, and sectoral representatives presented the approach of the state to this issue.

The event was organized by the Union of Informed Citizens NGO within the framework of the “Promoting Accountability and Public Oversight of Public Procurement” project, implemented with the support of the UK Government.
