Training on citizen participation in the public procurement oversight process and current issues

The Union of Informed Citizens NGO and “Restart” Civic-Youth Foundation organized a training on February 8 within the framework of the “Promoting Accountability and Public Oversight of Public Procurement” project on citizen participation in the public procurement oversight process and existing issues in the sector.

The project is implemented within the framework of the UK international development assistance with the support of the UK Government. The program aims to strengthen public oversight of the public procurement system in the Republic of Armenia and promote transparency and accountability in public procurement.

The training was attended by young people aged 17-30 who value civic participation in the public procurement sector and who want to play a role in the public procurement oversight process in the future.

RA Deputy Minister of Finance Avag Avanesyan, Chairman of the Urban Development Committee Yeghiazar Vardanyan, and Director of the Armenian Information Systems Agency Foundation Nerses Yeritsyan spoke at the event.

Four young people who participated in the course will have the opportunity to have a paid internship at the Union of Informed Citizens NGO. The students will study public procurement for 5 months, conduct field and research work, which will provide an opportunity to gain work experience in the field of public procurement.
